Infrared Image Denoising Based on Improved Threshold and Inter-scale Correlations of Wavelet Transform

摘要: 为了更有效地去除红外图像中的噪声, 提出一种基于改进阈值与尺度间相关的小波红外图像去噪方法. 一方面利用阈值修正方案和新阈值函数对通常的小波阈值去噪法进行改进; 另一方面通过对阈值邻近的小波系数进行小波变换尺度间相关性估计, 提高小波系数阈值判断的准确性.实验结果表明, 与通常的小波阈值去噪法相比,该算法能更有效地去除红外图像中的噪声, 获得更高的峰值信噪比(Peak signal-to-noise ratio, PSNR)、边缘保持指数(Edge preserved index, EPI)和更好的视觉效果,具有较好的实用性.Abstract: In order to remove noise in infrared images more effectively, an infrared image denoising method based on improved threshold and inter-scale correlations of wavelet transform is proposed. On the one hand, by using the threshold correction scheme and the new thresholding function, the wavelet threshold denoising method is improved. On the other hand, by utilizing inter-scale correlations to estimate wavelet coefficients near a threshold, the accuracy to estimate wavelet coefficients with threshold is increased. Experimental results show that compared to the wavelet threshold denoising method, the proposed method is more effective in infrared image denoising, achieves higher peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), edge preserved index (EPI) and better visual quality, and has a good practicability.
